He has authored and edited more than 50 books about cognition, security, and wireless sensor networks’ deployments in smart IoT environments, which have been published by well-reputed publishers such as Taylor and Francis, Elsevier, IET, and Springer. He has received several recognitions and best research awards at key international venues. Prof. Al-Turjman has led a number of international conferences and workshops in flagship AI and IoT societies. Currently, he serves as book series editor and the lead guest/associate editor for several top tier journals, including the IEEE Communications Surveys and Tutorials (IF 23.9) and the Elsevier Sustainable Cities and Society (IF 10.8), in addition to organizing international conferences and symposiums on the most up to date research topics in AI and IoT.

Keynote Speech:

Artificial Intelligence (AI) in the Internet of Things (IoT) Era

Abstarct

The Internet of Things (IoT) is a multidisciplinary field that relies mainly on three components: sensing, processing (intelligence), and data communication. From smart homes and smart transportation to smart spaces, intelligent IoT is bound to play a great role that will dramatically change our daily lives and human civilization. The IoT and artificial intelligence (AI) have recently drawn significant attention worldwide. Several AI problem-solving algorithms have been proposed, most of which are still at the early stages to be IoT-oriented solutions. Artificial intelligence-of-things (AIoT) combines both AI and IoT technologies. It evolves the existing IoT solutions to form autonomous future communication/processing architectures supporting massive smart spaces involving millions of devices/users. This talk sheds light on potential AIoT implementations and addresses their strengths and weaknesses. We emphasize where it is applicable and for what. Bearing in mind that it is only a matter of time before AIoT devices start to surround everything and everywhere,
